I’ve always had growth mindset posters on display in the classroom, but I’m looking forward to adding my own. I once had a child tell me he remembered one of the posters before his long jump competition and it made my day! If you regularly refer to them, and base lessons and discussions around them, they become more than just wallpaper. Question the children and let them question you:
- Why and how are we unique? What makes you unique?
- How can we make a difference? What can we actually do?
- Link this to children in history; how have they made a difference?
- What small changes can we make?
- What are you proud of and why?
- What new thing have you tried lately? Was it difficult?
- Link it to the learning pit, discussing how we all experience setbacks in order to achieve.
