Colour Coded Vocabulary Cards

All the vocabulary on our display has come from our model texts, and is added to the display gradually throughout the year, colour coded by word class. I pre-teach the vocabulary and regularly refer to words from then on. Any spare minute, be it washing hands, lining up for lunch or just randomly in the middle of the day, I’ll ask the children for a synonym on the wall for evil, an antonym for small etc., and challenge children to put it in a sentence. I try to choose words that the children can apply across more than one piece of writing, which they are all now doing confidently.

You can download my free Colour Coded Vocabulary Cards resource below. If my free resources, posts and book reviews have helped you in some small way, it would be lovely if you could support me by buying me a coffee, or a book to read my baby Adaline. Please don’t feel like you have to though!
